Literary Criticism of “A Death”

The link for the main criticisms can be found here.

Here are the links for two more supplemental articles found here and here.

So the main article here argues how “A Death” is a well made story that gets a lot of reaction from its readers. the writer here says that well written literature evokes strong feelings from its readers and that’s exactly what this story does. It’s definitely a twisted story, but the details and plot twist adds a great level of depth to everything, including the characters themselves. It shows just how twisted Trusdale was and it shows that Barclay could not have been more wrong. Trusdale acted to be such an innocent dude and only had one person fooled. But with how this was written, King might have fooled a lot of the readers. I know he fooled me along with the writer of this article. This article also echoes how that this story, even though it was short, had a lot of detail that was portrayed in a different and a very unique way. The readers were not bombarded with information all at once, but rather, we were incorporated into the story as it was happening. With all of this success, the article then talks about some lows that are associated with Stephen King. The other articles also add in the idea that King’s literature pieces are very interesting to read, but they are not the most sophisticated. King is often put in the same list as many other world renowned authors who are very sophisticated in their work. King often gets a pass on this idea and yet is still considered to be one of the best authors out there. The other authors would be considered to be more high brow, but to this writer of the article, the people who dwell on this are stuck up snobs. All authors should not be the same with being sophisticated and dainty all of the time. King is definitely a fresh breath of air when it comes to that and he continues to be a successful author no matter what anyone says.
